Pattern grouping

This page helps you move from single-value checks to grouped pattern analysis that is more stable and less likely to overfit.

Step A: Build a coherent word set

  • Choose one theme (example: governance, health, weather, markets).
  • Collect 5 to 12 related words or short phrases.
  • Include at least 2 expected non-matches to avoid cherry-picking.

Step B: Group by repeated structures

After calculating values, look for repeated totals appearing across independently related terms. Focus on cluster behavior, not one isolated coincidence.

Use the example results cluster below.

What pattern grouping provides

1) Context strength

Shows whether a value appears in a meaningful theme, not only in random samples.

2) Noise control

Highlights non-matches so interpretation remains grounded and transparent.

3) Stronger handoff

Prepares cleaner datasets for Level 3 name analysis and publication standards.
